Google defines Hobbies as………’An activity done regularly in one’s leisure time for pleasure, during your time off, not professionally, and typically done for NO pay.’
So if we take that as ‘gospel’, there is no doubt that what I’m referring to as my Hobbies truly meet that definition.
What about you?

So-So Sewing
Sewing is the one hobby of mine that truly relaxes me. I started sewing back in 2019, specifically, Summer 2019. I got the idea after going on Youtube™, one of my fav. pastimes. While there one day, I ran across a vid where a “seasoned-sewer” was, in essence, bragging about this quilt she sewed for a co-worker. After looking at the vid, re-winding it, slowing it down, and just studying it, I said to myself…..Self, you can do that too. And the rest, as they say, is history. I hope you like what I’ve created. There’s gonna be more to come!!!!!!! GOD-WILLING that is.
Wooden-U-Agree?
Next to my sewing projects, carpentry work, and just woodworking in general, gives me cray-cray joy and feelings of accomplishment like no-other hobby. I haven’t gotten there yet, but one day, even Norm Abram would be jealous of my power tools. One of my fav tools are my bandsaw, sander, and router. Borrowing a phrase…….I do can all things through those tools. Ittsah joke y’all, lighten up will you?
Hope you enjoy my work!!!!!!!
Structural Designs
When my youngest Son, Will, was in High School playing ball, I decided to build him a platform to put his workout equipment on. That project started me on a journey of building wooden structures that I really enjoy designing and completing. I’ve found that I can “look” at a vid, study it, design my own, and then go about building it as well, kinda what I do with my sewing projects. It’s hard work, but somebody’s gotta do it!
Gazebo Designs
These are photos showing the beginning, as well as the completed, 16′ x 12′ Gazebo floor that I designed and built for a friend here in the 386. I really enjoy it when folk see my work and have enough confidence to allow me to bring their dreams to reality. The finished product, as you can see, is a fully covered outdoor area to relax, eat your barbeques, and yes, Party like it’s 1999.
Stay tuned for more exciting, fulfilling projects. And by all means, let yah Boy know wutchoo think.
Brick-n-Brack
Masonry work is a skill-set I got from my Grand-Daddy. On occasion, during summer months when I needed some extra cash, my Grand-Daddy would let me tag along to help with the many jobs he did as a self-employed, self-made business owner. He taught me about what the proper concrete slump was and how to measure it, in-the-field. He taught me how to pull a “float”. He also taught me how to “finish” a side-walk before it settled. It was hard work, which is precisely the reason I only do this as a hobby. My hat’s off to those strong, hard-working individuals that do that for a living. I hope you enjoy another of my many “hobbies” that I do in my quest to be “OBEDIENT”.
Let the World Know!
I’ve been dablin in computers and the software that make’m work since grad school, so that means we’re talkn close to 40 years. I got into website designing back in 2011 when I created my first website, and its still up and running til this day. My latest website is the one you’re on now. I don’t design them for a living; that’ll take all the fun out of it. I like to take my time and do it right. I hope you enjoy these sites, let me know how you feel.
